The decline is easier to chart. After an unfortunate incident involving underage groupies (i.e. statutory rape), THE CHANELS soon changed their name to RATS&STAR, but the gist of their doo-wop soul revue show remained the same. Then member Masashi Tashiro did the rotating door thing with prison for being a peep freak. The band, minus a few members, made a kind-of comeback in 2006 amidst much media coverage as THE GOSPERATS.
