I love that last picture with Tsuburaya. That defines kaiju cool.

Why couldn't the last Godzilla movie be as cool as Monster Zero? Besides the fact that Nick Adams is gone.

1965 was kind of the peak for Golden Age Toho, and nothing says it better than Zero. I know a lot of people were down on Final Wars, but I think Don Frye earned a place in Godzilla gaijin history alongside Nick and co.

True.

Don't get me wrong. I liked Final Wars. My inner 6-year-old squealed when I saw Don Frye on the deck of the Atragon.

It's strange that Robert Scott Field gets all the face time over here(considering his character sucked)...ok...just at G-Fest. BTW, Don Frye will also be at G-Fest this year...of all the years to miss...

If Nick was still around, you think he'd also be at G-Fest?

No way. He's too cool for that.

BUT...he may be hard up cash, so if he could squeeze enough out of them. Then again...it is just G-Fest...

Somehow, I managed to put that all in the present tense.

That's because Nick Adams is eternal.

Niiiiiick ADAMS!

I loved Final Wars, I really thought it was a big wet kiss to Godzilla otaku, but it hurts Baby Jesus that people fail to see the coolness.

Altho honestly, I could have done with a little less 'Coat-fu' and the whole Mutant thing, and more of the EDF and Don Frye.

The one thing that would have made it perfect (IMHO, another Otaku ranting) if they had all made a mad dash to the 'secret dock' to find....the Original Goten-go. And lifted off to the real deal music. Because man, I'm sorry, that new 'Atragon' was kinda ass.

"Go right into it!"
