Toward the Terra looks dated now, but I dare say when it opened up it was very ahead of its time and very underrated by critics today.

I liked what I saw in Toward The Terra too, but I can see why people would think that way today.

Terra was kind of hard to see for a while there. I've since gotten the Right Stuf DVD and the Japanese R2 (both seem to use the same windowboxed rint). Sad to say, it's not an anime film from the era that I choose to watch all that much.
Still, love the art and melancholy mood. I also have the symphonic suite on CD. The world was a better place when Toei was devoted to making SF anime.
