The 9/16 issue of Weekly ASCII, a fine publication catering to the needs of PC and tech otaku, has a feature on overseas TV games that have yet to get a wide release in Japan. Maybe they'll come out some sunny day, maybe never ever...either way, scarcity has inspired the staff to skillfully disguise themselves as foreigners and make for the import stores of Akihabara where they shout out magic words in all-caps English (you know, just like real gaijin do).
The Gaijin Gambit actually works! The gang are soon losing weight, baggin' bucks, and hunting men with the very best of them. Now let's see if this trick works in reverse. What would you do to finally get a chance to play Capcom Vs. Tatsunoko in your neck of the woods?
This totally made my day...a new trailer for upcoming TV game Command and Conquer - Red Alert 3. Normally, being a staunch FPS guy, I could care less about a strategy title. But the cast for the full motion video sequences includes Tim Curry, Johnathan Pryce, Jenny McCarthy, Albert Einstein, J.K. Simmons, and George Takei as the Emperor of Japan in a true throwback to the Sega CD era crica 1993. Stick around to the end if you like big SF battleships throwing down for the rising sun...
Found today at Cherry Blossom Eiga. Has anyone out there ever actually played the Hiroki Matsukata fishing game for the Super Famicom before? It must be amazing and involve big bottles of sake and chain smoking somehow.
The current issue of Koakuma ageha has a pair of styling suggestions on how to make your Nintendo DS Lite the "sweetest" with the help of possibly-affordable "love dot" and crown encrusted deco-cases and custom jackets. Just don't play it, or that Brain Age game, on "the job"!
