Big schemes and krazy dreams in the works, but for now I have to be quiet. Not much in the way of new writing except for a Steamboy blurb to run in the Bay Guardian on Wed/16. Mostly been sitting here scribbling kanji, dreading inevitable eye strain.
Press wise, there’s a new Anime City review up on Film Fan Addict. Also, Kansai Time Out magazine did a glowing review of TokyoScope (of all things) in their March issue. I’ll post some excerpts from it pending permission from the author Matt Kaufman, of Osaka Exile 'zine fame. And Tomo and I did an interview with Anime News Network that we’re waiting to go up.
Looks like there’s going to be a book-signing event for Anime City at Get Lost Books in San Francisco on April/20. Hopefully, ol’ Machi won’t call in sick this time.
Lastly, I’ll be moderating a panel for the Japan Society of Northern California. The theme is “learning Japanese through manga” (or something like that, it's still coming together), and at least one of the panelists will be Fred Schodt of “Manga! Manga!” fame.
More info about these last two thingies once the proper press releases are unleashed.
You've probably already seen the ROTS trailer, but what do ya think?
