I start to figure that panic will never hit Japanese citizens when it comes to natural occurances. Earthquake? Just means you have to buy a new bookshelf. Typhoon? Just means you have to get the laundry in before the rain starts. Panic will only set in the day that a typhoon, an earthquake, and a blight on the rice crops simultaneously hits the archipelego.

It's funny. I felt a mag-3 in Yamagata and went crazy like I was some wild animal that experiences anomalities with the slightest change in air pressure.

No, they wouldn't panic. They'd just blink and continue calmly stabbing one another in the stomach.
