Kannon, the ever-popular Goddess of Wisdom, chimes in on the whole Dasai Gaijin thing.
To be cool to be cynical to be a sanest, in real, it'd turn out to be extremely twisted. It's complicated and not easy. Can't speak honestly or being passionate, or cry for justice.
Simple minded (both being white trash OR liking Super-Flat or iPod without any doubt). This is how non American see Americas from out side. Regardless, if it's true or not, or like it or not. America became a symbol of it.
It's a bit of envy ness, and "wow" to the bravely phrase yourself as "we're
number1!" without any doubt.
Yeah, maybe this is a America of 80's.
80's=every world are aiming for it.
90's=getting tired of it
00'=start hating it
2005= (at some small area of Japan) they are enjoying it.
Japanese are laughing at them, so that at least they can forget about the
fact, that the complicated mind of themselves.
"we are stupid and pathetic and uncool yeah!!!" is (at least right at the
moment) the most tough way of thinking. & who knows how long this will
last...
The whole idea of the "dasai gaijin": I embrace it. I know that, at some point in my life, I'm treated as one, and I see nothing wrong with it.
As my own personal blog will turn into, I think I actually want to be "dasai". Or at least appreciate just how "dasai" we are.
I'd best stay away from using this too much. I suppose it's comparable to "The Lame List" (complete with Jerry Cantrell) on the classic skit-show "Almost Live". We just absolutely love everything lame about America.
