“Tekiya Stargate”
Episode Fourteen
While waiting for powerful representatives from a Big Toy Company to pick them up, Matt and Pat nervously pace up and down the main temple and tourist drag in Asakusa. Hello Kitty is seen holding a chocolate banana, the new Gunbuster movie is reviewed on the sly, and fashion tips are given on how to get arrested in Tokyo.
I remember reading somewhere thatthe opening scene of Gunbuster VS Diebuster had Nono, the lead heroine from the latter series facing off against Noriko...
Is this true? O_O

It's actually supposed to be, like, some other planet that looks exactly like Jupiter but isn't (I remember the name but I'm not going to admit it, it would be too nerdy). They made up a few extra planets for the solar system so they could blow them up without inconveniencing anyone, I think.

BUT WHAT HAPPENED WITH THE B**D** PEOPLE?!?!?!?
So this is all done for me? I quiver between blushing in secret pleasure and shaking in fear I've become an 'internet joke', where just mentioning my name is the punchline and stands alone, like saying "that's what SHE said!"
But in the end, I just gather up my 'inner Shatner' and smile. I can't control what anyone thinks about me, all I can do is be comfortable with myself. :)
Were it being done for me, the two of you would have tracked down Nishizaki and gotten the straight do....um..the real deal on all that stuff.
Or a report from Yamato Fest. I can't recall if it's already past or still coming up.
And it's a pleasing day, as Mediablasters (which you probably won't find on their UTTER SHIT website) has announced they're releasing Latitude Zero come March '07. Patrick, why aren't you doing liner notes for these things?
Good podcast, Patrick and Matt. Honest, it does feel like I'm there, walking the mean streets. Have some pankcakes.

WTF? I double posted? Just because I tried to take the extra 'K' out of pancakes?
I AM an internet joke! WHHAAAAAAA!
As an act of contrition, I will eat bread without crusts as I walk the Road of Shame.

As is predictable (it happens in 97% of cases) Patrick likes something, I don't like it--and then, guess what, in two years I come around to his way of thinking.* This was the case with Aim For The Top! 2, whose theme song I'm now listening to on Repeat One. Then again, I didn't like the original Top! when it came out in 1988, humorlessly rejecting it after the first volume for the crime of not being ROYAL SPACE FORCE. I didn't watch the whole thing until 1994, and, as a real man should, I wept.

*This should be sung like Nash Kato.

Pretty amusing. Do Ikebukuro next -- there's a lot to make fun of.

Jumbo dogs? Gotta go to the "Hot Dog Inn" right outside of the Tokyo Dome. Dogs with mayo, processed cheese product, etc.....so many takes on a crappy hot dog.
