From Vol.3 of the Space Cruiser Yamato Fan Club Magazine (dated April 25th, 1978), here are some lonely planet boys and girls looking for pen pals and voices from a distant star.
Entire scan, complete with mailing addresses so you can write these folks (although most are probably dead or in jail at this point) is here.
Has the gorgeous face of fandom really changed all that much since the last space war?
I've noticed the overall look of Asian people in general has changed quite a bit since the late 70s. They just look, well, different now.

It's almost like they're waiting for something to happen. I wonder if it did?

I see two significant things.
1. There's an amazing number of really attractive girls in the group.
2. There's a surprising amount of cosplay and 'fannish clothing'on display. For 1978 that's almost shocking.
I wonder how many are working at Bandai now?

I wonder how many of them switched their look later that year when "Disco Yamato" was released?

How many changed their look after ThunderSub was released?

Ms. Yamaguchi looks like she's in The Runaways. That's cool.
