From Vol.3 of Yamato Fan Club Magazine (dated April 25th, 1978): "My Yamato" where readers send in pics of humongous space battleships they make with large numbers of friends! To the right is a snow yamato (no, its not actually the real deal on ice) made by some no-counts in Hokkaido. I guess nowadays, these dorks would either be into doujinshi or CG modeling. A shame, really.
Well, I dunno if this is from the same snow festival, but it's impressive nontheless...

You know what impresses me the most about this old fanzine? The fact that it's typeset! I don't think the Americans had a typeset Yamato fanzine until 1983 - it was edited by some dude from the midwest whose name I can't recall...

Well, keep in mind that what Patrick is showing here is the offical Space Battleship Yamato fan club newsletter/magazine, produced by Office Academy itself. for a 12 page (plus or minus) slick paper publication, it BETTER be typeset... :)
