Found today at Cherry Blossom Eiga. Has anyone out there ever actually played the Hiroki Matsukata fishing game for the Super Famicom before? It must be amazing and involve big bottles of sake and chain smoking somehow.

i've only seen 2 pics of the actual game (shirtless HM sitting in chair on back of boat - fighting fish). No tats, but aviators might be present. I'd rather see a "Mamushi Brothers" take of "Mario Brothers". Bunta & Tamio could be the new Mario & Luigi of platformers. Now that's what the gaming world needs! (patent pending)

Aviators are indeed present. The intro is fairly intense and well-directed. Those that take their fishing seriously would definitely be pumped about the game that awaits. Hard to say how enjoyable it'd be after that.
But yeah. Weird tone to it. I was expecting the game to have a more breezy and pleasant feel, but it could almost be a fighting game up until the fishing actually begins.
